Welcome to GagaToon !
GagaToon is a free web comic strip for screen and mobile phone by Komikada and Heike Vogt about the turbulent working life in a British toy company with many colourful foreign employees. (Colours by Anna Masoni).
Stan
Fearful of illness, fearful of women, fearful of old age - neurotics don't come any more burdened than Stan! Behind his façade of selfish worry, there lurk a soft heart and an easily hurt personality. Stan is punctual, conscientious and compliant. He is easily vexed by his office mate Serge, although they still forge a strong bond, if only by constantly feeding into each other's foibles. Stan's world is marked by the trace of monsters real and imagined, health risks, perceived slights and the desire to basically be somebody else. Although he doesn't really know it, he is mainly motivated by his secret wish to actually get a life - and his ever-elusive quest for perfect digestion. >Questions to the Team
Serge
Loudmouth Serge, who has a string of jobs under his belt and is blessed with the sensitivity of a rhino, is never worried and always broke. He loves wine, women and song - in a way. Not necessarily the sharpest tool in the box and always ready to waste a disproportionate amount of energy on some hopeless but enjoyable endeavour, Serge finds an easy target in dutiful Stan. To compound matters, 'discretion' is not in Serge's vocabulary, but Stan cannot help opening his heart to the only person who truly puts up with him. >Questions to the Team
Wendy
Often described as 'the right woman in the wrong job', Wendy is toy designer who cannot deny her admiration for all things military. Blessed with superior intelligence and a genius for coming up with one frightening creation after another, she is still ever ready to help out her colleagues. A high-octane coffee maker? A device travel between multiple dimensions? It's all in a day's work. A married mother of three, she has firm opinions on child work (good), discipline (good) and the God-given right to a spot of self-defence (very good indeed). >Questions to the Team
Mecnun
Turkish accountant Mecnun, a glowing admirer of Ataturk, is an ambitious and career-hungry representative of his country's Europeanising contingent. Racked with insecurities about his perceived birth disadvantage and a secret awareness that in his job, he has drawn quite a short straw, Mecnun tries extra hard to emulate the diligence he thinks has made Europe the superior entity he believes it is. Entirely underdeveloped in the humour department, his character frequently jars with the gung-ho attitude of both Serge and Wendy, while Stan is beneath him, anyway. >Questions to the Team
The Office Plant
A worthy representative of all neglected office plants that wither away in some godforsaken corner, the plant has, at least, an opinion. Always waiting for water (and never, ever getting any), it turns into an involuntary listener to its negligent masters' ramblings, and is never shy to offer a snide comment - if only it could speak!
The Company
The unnamed British toy company provides an ideal backdrop for everybody's eccentricities. With the forces of chaos and order constantly at war, it is no wonder that nothing much is ever produced. Isn't it far more interesting to indulge in a little time-travel than to waste one's energies on boosting pre-Christmas sales figures?
